The Shepherd Group was formed by David Shepherd in 1977 after he graduated from the University of Mississippi. The Carmel native and former Mr. Basketball built the agency from nothing into the multi-office force that it has become today. The agency, headquartered in Carmel, has operations in Evansville, Seymour, Bloomington and Valparaiso. The agency has always had a solid foundation of personal lines business, many of whom have been with the agency since David first knocked on their door in 1977. The agency also specializes in commercial insurance, employee benefits and financial products. Shepherd’s innovation and unique style has resulted in many niche markets and exclusive carrier partnerships
