We're just as passionate about community service as we are about professional service. Quinn Shepherd started Operation Shepherding in 2011 as a year-round initiative to support the local communities where our employees and clients live and work. We encourage our team to look for opportunities to pay it forward and to be actively involved in the community. All employees are given a day off of work each year to volunteer with the organization of their choice.
Our annual Christmas tradition is to host a toy drive and fundraiser for Prevail, which is a non-profit organization that helps victims of crime and abuse. During our company Christmas party at Indiana Grand on December 18, 2015, we presented a check for $15,000 to Prevail. Shepherd Insurance had nominated Prevail for a grant by our friends and partners at Westfield Insurance. Read the full story, "Shepherd Insurance aids Prevail" in the Current in Carmel (12/29/2015).
ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION - One of the organizations close to our hearts is the Alzheimer's Association. On October 10, 2015 a group of approximately 80 Shepherd Unforgettable’s gathered to support The Walk to End Alzheimer’s. As of today, our team has raised over $12,500. Not only did our team make an appearance in numbers, we also were in the top 15 teams in the amount of money raised which helped us achieve the ‘Rookie Team of the Year’ award. The Unforgettable’s were featured on local area billboards thanking us for our hard work, fundraising tactics, and team spirit. The money raised will go toward research that will one day end Alzheimer’s for future generations.
