Compliance Services

In this legislative environment, maintaining health and welfare plan compliance can be challenging for any business. Too often, companies fall into non-compliance by falling behind on the changing government regulations that affect employee benefits plans.

One of the biggest hurdles to compliance is simply not being aware. Not to mention that complying with state and federal employee benefits regulations can be daunting. We are here to help employers keep up with the complexities, risks, and consequences of non-compliance. We help provide valuable, prompt and matter of fact compliance assistance to clients through onsite visits, on-staff attorney, ERISA attorneys, newsletters, emails, and compliance reviews.

In addition, we provide our clients with a compliance portal, which is designed to help you, the employer, comply with numerous requirements applicable to health and welfare plans such as:

  • Cafeteria plans
  • COBRA (Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act)
  • ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act)
  • FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act)
  • Health Care Reform
  • HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act)
  • Medicare/TRICARE
  • Nondiscrimination
  • Taxation of employee benefits
  • Other federal and state mandates

The compliance portal will generate a list of required items based on your size and type of employee benefit plans. Additionally, within the portal, you have the capability to:

  • Review plan-specific list of requirements, customizable by plan size and type of plan
  • Review the specific differences of each listed requirement
  • Access extensive information concerning each compliance requirement, including links to relevant government websites, model notices, frequently asked questions and applicable penalties for non-compliance
  • Create a task list for both the representative and client based on items that need additional attention
  • Give representative oversight of each client’s compliance
  • Directly access the portal to enable self-service, if desired
  • Sync due dates with Microsoft Outlook calendar to stay on task
  • Create automatic email reminders for each task
  • Obtain access with iPads
