There are essentially two types of coverages – Building coverage and Contents coverage. Building coverage usually protects the physical structure of the home and its foundation, plumbing, and electrical systems, air and heating systems, cabinets and paneling and a detached garage. Contents coverage usually protects clothing, furniture and electronics, curtains, some portable appliances, freezers and certain valuables like art.
