CARMEL, Ind.: Dave Shepherd has been inducted into this year’s new class of Hall of Fame members by Insurance Business America, a leading publication within the insurance industry.

Dave was one of 29 insurance professionals inducted into this year’s class of Hall of Fame inductees, which recognizes each inductee and their distinguished careers that have helped shape the insurance industry into what it is today. According to Insurance Business America, the 29 insurance heavyweights who comprise IBA’s 2018 Hall of Fame are a testimony to the fact that having a profession you love can lead to decades of success and fun. This year’s Hall of Fame inductees join last year’s inaugural class of industry titans and pioneers who have paved the way for thousands of others to find success in the insurance industry.

Dave Shepherd founded Shepherd Insurance in 1977 as a single-owner in his basement. After five years, Shepherd was contracted by Erie Insurance to offer auto, home and small business insurance options in addition to ongoing life insurance business. Over time, Dave established relationships with different carriers that allowed the company’s growth to expand across different markets. Nearly four decades later, Shepherd has grown to include over 300 employees and 20 office locations serving four unique lines of business – commercial, personal, employee benefits and financial services.
