In 2023, Shepherd Insurance expanded its northern Indiana footprint with the addition of MacLennan & Bain Insurance. Since 1908, MacLennan & Bain has been serving the insurance needs of the Northwest Indiana region. Much like Shepherd, MacLennan & Bain has always been a family-run agency, with four founding families starting the agency. Over the years, the agency’s location changed, from Gary, IN in 1908, to Merrillville, IN in 1972, finally settling in Valparaiso, IN, in 2001. Throughout the years, the agency has experienced great growth and change, which has led the team to where it is today.
